The Republic of Wynnum today confirmed that it plans to launch its own currency in 2017. More details on how this will operate and when the currency will launch will be announced in the coming weeks.
The banknotes will feature an image of the current President of the Republic, Yvonne Merriman, in the design and a number of security features. Notes will be issued in $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 denominations, although only the $1, $5 and $10 notes will go into circulation.
